New Greenham Park

Greenham Common Trust set up New Greenham Park in 1997 to help local SMEs grow and prosper. It has won the Queen's Award for Enterprise (sustainability) twice and has supported some of area's most successful technology and manufacturing firms which have been fostered from fledgling businesses. Income from the business park is reinvested and given out in community grants and over £12m has been distributed since the park opened.

Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council

Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council has been working closely with SEEDA over the last 18 months to establish a new business centre after research demonstrated a local demand for incubator start-up facilities, which have been proven to have a significant impact on company survival rates.

The Leader of Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council Cllr Andrew Finney added: "We've already set up the first local authority backed venture capital fund of its kind to help innovative young businesses to start up and grow. Research has shown that there is also demand for flexible and affordable office space with easy access to expert advice and support services to help fledgling businesses.

“This 'all under one roof' centre will encourage enterprise and strengthen the economic future of the borough, providing employment and development opportunities for our residents. It is also hoped that this centre will bring together higher education and business, if proposals to locate university provision on the same site are successful.”
